- Work being accomplished in the database

There tons of documents, presentations, etc out there that give advice on which of the hundreds of statistics and tables to look at to tune an Oracle database. The idea in this document is to show that for all basic performance checkups there are only 3 tables to look at.

For most tuning problems these 3 tables will suffice, but in those case where we are unable to solve a tuning problem from these 3 tables we will at least know exactly where to go for more information. The end of this presentation will give examples of where to go in these cases. For example, after looking the the 3 tables to be presented we will know where the problem is, say in area X. At the end of the presentation we tell you what detailed analysis to do in case X.
